If the inventarising archaeological survey reveals the presence of a site of archaeological interest which cannot be preserved and protected in situ, in most cases a complete archaeological excavation will follow.
Combination with UXO research
Sometimes an archaeological site is located in an area suspected of explosives. By properly combining the archaeological excavations and the approach of explosives, the duration of the project can be shortened considerably. The deployment of an archaeologist who is also an assistant UXO expert ensures protection and preservation of the archaeological heritage found during the UXO approach.
